Norway Spruce
This tree can spread up to 30 feet and get as tall as 60 feet. During its good years, it can grow two feet, but in bad years, it will only grow about one foot.
Northern White Cedar
This tree is an evergreen that grows very slowly, less than a foot each year. It can grow up to 60 feet in height and can spread up to 15 feet.
Northern Red Oak
This tree native to the northeast region can grow up to 75 feet tall and can spread 45 feet. It displays red leaves in the fall, and grows over 2 feet every single year.
American Elm
This tree grows up to 100 feet or more in height and the trunk grows up to 4 feet wide. This tree also grows very rapidly.
Striped Maple
This is one of the smallest trees on this list, and only grows to 30 feet total. This tree also grows very slowly.
Native Flowers:
Wild Anemone
This flower, with its huge white flowers can fill a big space during one growing season. This plant is easy to grow and thrives in moist soils.

This flower is considered one of the queens of the garden during springtime. This plant is properly named because of its slipper shaped yellow flowers.

This is a very tough plant that is native all along the Eastern coast. It is tough and offers fuzzy leaves and pea-like flowers.

These are very easy-to-grow plants that look best when planted in mass quantity. They also offer yellow dangling flowers during the springtime.
5 Virgin's Bower
This plant produces starry white colored flowers that are scented and cover the vine during the middle of summer. During the fall they can look beautiful when their seed heads catch the evening light.
